The Eagle's Nest productivity landed in our tree three years ago during an inquiry study on letter writing in third grade. Noticing where letters are used and placed in the world, two girls came up with letters found in the newspapers. After that, we all spun our heads together and developed the first Eagle's Nest. It's grown from grade level publication to whole school. We even receive letters from the community commenting on our write-ups! Each year, the students decide if it's something of interest before we begin our study. Learning about deadlines, editing, audience, working together, making decisions and more, drives our success and future of our paper each year. Look out Pleasanton Weekly, here we come!
